Beware of "isms"

Dec 28, 2006
Michael Hogan

Once again, I had an opportunity to have lunch with a retired local history professor. While most of his stuff is pure predictable neo-liberalism, I have lunch with him because he is sweet. Early in our lunch, the professor went into a full blown rant against "isms." I certainly agree "isms" were the beginning of our downfall. Prior to the arrival of Imperial pirates, Indians were living the life of ease (working 4 hours a day) without any stinking "isms." The new Imperial Masters brought priests or pastors who in turn brought us "isms" (Catholicism and Protestantism). And so it goes.
